By focusing on the relationship and understanding the needs of the individual or group we can then tailor our approach to best suit your needs. We draw on several theoretical approaches such as Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural, Appreciative Inquiry, Motivational Interviewing and Person Centred coaching.
Central to our Coaching practice is to look at Performance. This is truly the only aspect of our engagement that we can control. Timothy Gallwey described Performance as being equal to your Potential but minus the Interference. We see six elements, depicted as a hexagon, as being of particular importance when looking at Performance, Potential or indeed Interference, ‘what gets in the way’. These six factors are your thinking patterns (Cognitive your actions (Behavior) your feelings (Emotions) the Social Context, how you feel physically (Physiological) and finally Values. Related to this hexagon is the area of managing the performance of others, mentoring and emotional intelligence which includes awareness and social relationships. As represented in the company logo, the intersecting hexagons depict two people coming together. Managing ourselves is one challenge, understanding the other is a second and finally managing the white space or ‘thinking / reflective space’ that we create in a conversation is the core challenge and opportunity for the skilled coach.
